Sundays at Fort Hill

Sunday mornings at Fort Hill United Methodist Church in Lynchburg, VA are relaxed with a ‘come as you are’ atmosphere. You will see local church members wearing everything from suits to jeans and shorts. Every Sunday, worship centers the life of the Fort Hill congregation. Beginning at 10:30 a.m. worship in the sanctuary includes a variety of music, prayers, Bible readings, and messages designed to help persons grow in their faith as followers of Jesus. Recorded online worship that includes a message by the pastor and music by the director of music is offered at 9:00 a.m. Online worship is accessed on the Fort Hill website and our Youtube and Facebook pages.

Our Mission

Fort Hill’s mission is to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.  Some of the ways Fort Hill is engaged in this mission include a “Blessing Box” for the distribution of groceries and a partnership with “Food for Thought” to share food with students in our surrounding communities.  Our church in Lynchburg, VA is a partner in education with Perrymont Elementary School and supports the Parkview Community Ministry.  In addition, Fort Hill supports the mission and ministry of The United Methodist Church in 130 nations.
